Meet Ricky "The Rooster" Lai

We sat down with our VP of Delivery, Ricky Lai, so you could get to know more about him.

I am Ricky Lai, the VP of Delivery and I have been with Spira for three years now.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚?

I actually had a long relationship with some of the staff here from previous companies I have worked at, so when I found myself looking for future career opportunities, I already knew Spira had a strong leadership foundation with exciting potential. I wanted to work at a company that appreciated new ideas and collaboration within a positive culture - somewhere I could contribute and have a hand in shaping the company and seeing the impact of my work, and I knew those values were in place here. It was a stroke of luck that the timing and opportunity worked out well.

The people and culture. Our team truly cares about the success of our clients. They not only are extremely talented and possess a hard work ethic but at the heart of it, are great people.

What is your favourite Spira feature and why?

The Dispatch Dashboard. Seeing near real-time locations of assets, corresponding operational information, and making critical business decisions on the fly really exemplifies the power of technology + data working together.

I am a big car fan which started when I was young. Trying to learn everything I could through research and getting my hands dirty, which evolved as I moved to more powerful cars. Luckily for me and my pocketbook, this has tailored off a bit in my adult years, but I still remain plugged in and carry that interest.
